Training presentation

Faced with the complexity and challenges facing festival organizations, the OTACC Chair and the IMPGT are developing a post-graduate diploma (DESU) dedicated to strengthening the entrepreneurial and managerial skills of professionals in the festival and event industry, in a responsible, social and supportive dynamic.

This specialized diploma is primarily designed to train professionals who wish to move into service management or executive positions within a festival organization, whatever the artistic discipline.

This action is part of the FICCTION project, led by the CMQe Industries Culturelles et Créatives Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, and supported as part of the AMI "Compétences et Métiers d'Avenir" program of France2030 operated by the Groupe Caisse des Dépôts, the Banque des Territoires and the Région Sud - Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.

  • Objectives

    - To fill the gap in specialized training in festival entrepreneurship and management. The DESU is designed to meet the need for training personnel who are competent in the festival sector.

    - It will make it easier for young graduates to take up new management positions, or enable existing directors to put their practices into perspective by reinforcing their skills in the fundamental areas of entrepreneurship and management. Training must therefore be in touch with the players in the field.

    - Develop the versatility of DESU students' skills in managing societal transition projects. The skills developed must be both cross-disciplinary (ticketing, communications, production, programming, cultural action, etc.) and managerial (legal, social, management (executive), accounting, governance issues (private/public)).

    - Reinforce the entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial, social and solidarity-based approach within the event industry, by training in inclusive governance mechanisms and experimenting with inclusive management spaces, practices and tools.

    - Encourage peer-to-peer transmission and foster professional solidarity within the industry by encouraging the exchange of practices between professionals during this university training program.

    - Encourage the inclusion of multiple disciplines and aesthetics in festival projects.
