On Friday February 28, students in the Master 2 in Public Management, course in Security and Territorial Management (SMT), visited the Aix-Luynes Penitentiary Center as part of their training.
Welcomed by prison staff and accompanied by their instructors, they were able to discover how a penitentiary actually works, talk to professionals and gain a better understanding of the issues involved in prison management and security. This immersion enabled the students to deepen their knowledge by comparing theory with realities in the field, particularly with regard to the missions of prison officers, the organization of detention areas and the security measures in place.
