Improbable 2025 seminar: 18 works to question public action

October 22, 2025

From October 15 to 17, 2025, the 80 students in the Master 2 Public Management program took part in a new edition of the Séminaire Improbable, an Art Thinking experience that invites us to rethink public action through artistic creation.

For three days, they explored the improbable in the manner of artists, through lectures, workshops and critical sessions, culminating in the creation of 18 contemporary works of art questioning our relationship with public service and society.

The seminar closed with an ephemeral exhibition entitled Regards (improbables) sur l'action publique at the IMPGT (site Ferry, Aix-en-Provence). Visitors were able to discover original creations, conceived as veritable "visual thoughts" (Bertrand Lavier).

For the occasion, students were accompanied by artists and teachers such as Céline Du Boys, Sarah Serval, Ahlam Benlemselmi, Léna Karson, Anaïs Montevecchi and Pierre Tectin.

Congratulations to all the student artists for their commitment, critical thinking and the quality of the works presented.

Conceived by Sylvain Bureau (ESCP Business School) and Pierre Tectin (Art Thinking Network), the Séminaire Improbable has been recognized as one of the top 10 pedagogical innovations in higher education. The IMPGT is the first French university to integrate it into its pedagogy, starting in 2023.
