M2 DDGTPMI (promo 2020-21) | Mobilized to accompany islands towards resilience

January 18, 2021

In response to the current challenges of preserving shorelines, islands and oceans, the ICO Solutions event offers meetings and workshops with experts, companies, NGOs, media, public actors and scientists to build innovative solutions in favour of biodiversity.

The 2020-2021 class of the Master 2 Sustainable Development and Territorial Governance of Projects in the Mediterranean and Internationally (DDGTPMI), directed by Mrs Emmanuelle MOUSTIER (Senior Lecturer at IMPGT) is therefore taking part in these reflections, alongside professionals, focusing specifically on the management of water resources and waste. Thus, during the semester :

  • Carry out a benchmark of waste management and treatment solutions adapted to island territories
  • Analyse the waste issue on 5 islands (Friuli, Principe, Marie-Galante, Emerald Sea and Lastovo).
  • Drafting a methodological sheet to assist island actors in carrying out a diagnosis on their territory.

All the work will be promoted in autumn 2021 during the "Days of Commitment" in parallel with the IUCN World Conservation Congress.

This involvement will enable students to strengthen their skills and knowledge, to develop new knowledge on the sustainable management of island territories in the face of risks, and to put their personal knowledge into perspective with the island context!

ICO Solutions and an event co-organised by the Rhône Méditerranée Corse Water Agency, the Aix-Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Conservatoire du littoral, in partnership with the Sulubaaï Foundation, Ecocean and the PIM and SMILO associations.
